Weekend Haul:Sta.Lucia+Japan Home Centre+Excel lip creams & more

Hi guys! How's your long weekend? Did you enjoy it?
Hmm me, I enjoyed it a bit, but most of the time I just stayed here at home.
I wasn't able to post anything from past 3 days so I decided to share with you this.
Here's what I've got from my latest haul!
I already emptied my Nivea Whitening Cell Repair lotion, and mom wants me to try the Block and White in Pearl White since it is 10-peso cheaper and contains100ml more than Nivea. This was my 2nd time to try the new variant of B&W, the first was the Green one but I wasn't able to make a review about it, sorry.
And also, my friend, Rachel is selling excel lip creams and I decided to buy 3. She was too kind to sell me these for very low prices like I've never been see in any online store. She even gave me two for FREE! Thanks hun! You are always sweet to me! Review will be very soon! Promise! hehe
I'm tired of using Maxi Peel, that's why I opted for Eskinol Facial Cleanser since I am having some zits on my forehead and cheeks.
Block and White (350ml) P180.00
Eskinol P35.00
I also bought this from Rachel, for only P80.00 :)

And last Saturday, mom and I went to Sta.Lucia to buy new Thermos but look what we've got!

Cotton buds (3) P88.00
I have lots of compartments for my lippies! Now I think I have to buy more lipstick to accumulate them!

Klik Colorless P17.00

And 3 pairs of shoes which are on SALE:
3 pairs for only P850? Yes!

This one is for me:
Too bad, dahil sa pagmamadali, yung left wedge lang ang sinukat ko na nakadisplay, di ko na sinukat yung right side kaya ayun masikip pala saken yung right side ang sakit sa paa!
 Old price was P899
Now for only P299!
Size 5, sorry for my gross feet!

And this one from Finickee is for my sister-in-law:

 Size 8
Old prine P599.00
Now for only P250.00!

This one is for mom:

Maybelline Clear Smooth All in One Shine Free Foundation

The Problem:
I have extremely oily face. And not to mention, acne scars worsen it. That's why I cannot go outside with bare face. I know I always need to wear a foundation (powder) to hide those imperfections. But since I am more concerned about the price of a foundation, I want one which is affordable but does the job in concealing my acne marks and of course controlling the oiliness on my face. Does the featured product on today's post will help me to solve my problem? Let's find out!

The Product:
Maybelline Clear Smooth Shine All in One Shine Free Foundation
(take a deep breathe after)

I discovered this product last year, and when I knew that it only cost P149.00 (the refill ones) I purchased one after I emptied my all time favorite Ever Bilena two way foundation. By the way, here's the short information about the foundation:
Yes it has SPF 25!
If I am not mistaken, it is available in 4 shades. And I think I have mine which is in the darkest shade (?) Sand Beige.

Here's mine:
Cost: P149.00
Where: Watson's
Content: 1.5 grams
Shade: Sand Beige

Sorry mine has been crack :( I have this for 3 months na yata. Ngayon ko lang naisipan ireview.

The shade has yellow undertone that suits the Asian girls like us.

I am not sure if it is a two way cake, but I think it isn't. I tried to wet the sponge and applied it on my face but it did not work. It only leaves a dark mark on the foundation. So yeah, don't try to apply this with wet sponge applicator.

Here's the swatch on me:
Without Flash with natural lighting.

I have very yellow skin undertone. So the foundation may look a bit grayish on me because I am acidic. It may look lighter than my skin tone but fret not, because it will suddenly darken after few minutes.

My thoughts: Well, I think buying this twice means I am satisfied. Not really amazed but this is perfect for everyday use. It does the job when it comes to mattifying your face and covering my acne marks. But of course, it has Good and Bad points. Before we proceed on it I would like to share with you the pictures that I've taken so you can see how it does conceal my acne marks.

With flash.
I have lots of acne marks on my cheek. Whenever I have pimples, it usually leave me dark marks. The pictures taken above and below were taken after work, this is about 8pm so you can see that my face is truly oily and decided to put the Maybelline foundation and it really makes my face matte.

Without Flash.
One to two layers is enough to lightly cover my acne marks.

See, it has good coverage no?

Good Points:
Affordable
Has light to medium coverage
Prevents oiliness (2-4 hours)
Has 5 shades to choose from
It comes with a sponge
Does not break me out
No weird scent
Easy to blend
Easy to carry around (size)

Bad Points:
It easily cracks
It oxidize a bit (on my skin)
Needs to layer for maximum coverage
Using the sponge applicator, when you wear moisturizer underneath it, the powder tends to look cakey

Recommendation: Yes! Despite of it's negative points I still recommend this to those who are on a tight budget but looking for a good foundation. Specially if you are just looking for an everyday powder, this is surely for you! This has been my second purchased of it but please be careful since it tends to crack easily, I did not drop this but I was very dismay after seeing it cracked. In my opinion, when it comes to coverage, the EB two way cake foundation is much better than this.

PrettyThriftyPoints: 7/10

And there you have it! I hope you find this post  helpful if you are planning to purchase the said product in near future.

And i hope you are enjoying the long weekend!
Will going to post my previous haul tomorrow!
Stay tuned!

Take care,
JENNY

Do the dots!

Since katamaran strikes, I am just going to share with you these NOTDs of mine that I created last year.
This was inspired by dots.

So if you are planning to have your nails done this weekend you can copy these NOTD if you like!
Dots are the most easiest thing to do if you are a beginner in nail art designing.
All you have to do is to prepare a dotter.
It can be any pointed tool like a pen, pencil, pins or toothpick or
anything as long as it has rounded and pointed tip.

And last thing to remember is the color combination of your nail polishes.
Make it sure that they have contrasting colors.

So here is it:

This is the combination of Sheer Violet and Black Dots.
If I am not wrong I used here the Posh Nail Polish (violet) and a cheap black nail polish.

And here's a slanted french tips on my toe nails.

And another Red french tips with gold dots:

Another pink french tips with white dots with glittered top coat.

Green nails with white random dots.

And another slanted pink french tipswith blue and white dots.

And that's it.
I hope you like them.
Remember, you don't have to splurge with expensive nail polish to come up with a nice nail art design, it is just a matter of CREATIVITY and PATIENCE and PRACTICE!

Goodnight!
Thanks,
JENNY
