Review : Stila Waterproof Eyeliner in Stargazer

First of all, I would to sincerely apologize to Ms. Suyen for not posting this review as soon as I received this. But of course, I wanted to thank her for being so kind and understanding. And to all of you guys, I told ya last 2 weeks that I'll be posting this review just after I finished the lipstick reviews, but it took me so long to post this because I am not able to buy new camera. Thankfully, last night, my "kakarag-karag" camera works again and I grab the opportunity to take picture of this product so I can finally state my thought and write my review about it.

Anyway, you all know that I am a thrifty person, so I don't usually buy eyeliner which will cost me more than 100 pesos. But I still have the curiosity and "lust" on expensive brands like Urban Decay, Stila, MAC and etc. Fortunately, I had the chance to try one of the amazing product from STILA.

As I mentioned on this post, I was chosen as the "Guest Blogger" of House of Flair for the month of November. So, HOF immediately sent this product to me the day after it announced the blogger of the month:

If there is one thing that I cannot forget in my daily routine, that is "Eyeliner". Why? Because I don't have the tantalizing eyes. I have chinky and boring eyes, so eyeliner is,well my Hero. It brightens up my eyes and needless to say, it truly change my look. I feel confident and pretty "wink*wink*" with eyeliner and bold lipstick! But upon using cheap eyeliners in the market, honestly, I haven't met the perfect one. Does Stila eyeliner  will win my heart despite of being an imported product? Keep on reading below and see what's special about this eyeliner.

Here is Stila Smudge Proof Waterproof Eyeliner. This is actually comes in a set called "Seeing Stars Smudge Stick Set" for $32 but you can buy it individually at House of Flair. It comes with 5 different colors:
  • stargazer (black with gold and silver pearl)
  • angelfish (metallic pewter)
  • tetra (deep shimmery purple)
  • moray (golden olive shimmer)
  • oscar fish (warm brown with gold pearl)

It is said to be "perfect for any day or evening holiday look, waterproof and long-wearing shade in a propel pencil won’t smudge, budge or fade through holiday cheer or seasonal weather."

Hmm, sounds promising right? Let's see later on my swatch test if it really is smudge and water proof.

The product information was labeled on the eyeliner.

Ingredients: Isododecane, Cyclopentasiloxane, PEG/PPG-19/19 Dimethicone, Synthetic Wax, Hydrogenated Polydicyclopentadiene, Nylon-12, C20-40 Alcohols, Perfluorononyl Dimethicone, Silica, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Polyglyceryl-4 Diisostearate/Polyhydroxystearate/Sebacate, Polyethylene, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Tocopherol, Tin Oxide, May Contain (+/-) Mica, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Bronze Powder (CI 77400), Ferric Ferrocyanide (CI 77510), Chromium Oxide Greens (CI 77288), Aluminum Powder (CI 77000), Ultramarines (CI 77007), Carmine (CI 75470).

I really love the pencil packaging, it also has glitters on which is also of the same glitters on the actual product. The pencil itself looks sosy. hehe
It is a retractable pencil so it's easier for me to control the product.

So here's the swatches on my skin:

I just lightly swatch the liner on my skin, so you can see how pigmented the liner is.

On macro shot, you can see the gold and silver shimmers. But if you don't like shimmers, fret not because it doesn't actually shows when applied on eyelids.

The moment of truth, here is the water test:

Take note that I hardly rubbed the eyeliner to see how smudge proof it is. See the pictures below and let it do the talking:

As you can see, my skin turns red, it only shows that I truly rubbed my skin hard! Lol! :D

And again, I put my arm under running water and rubbed it until 20 rubbed.

Tortured arm? lol. Grabe, it is really hard to remove. So, are you convince that this is really waterproof and smudge proof? If you aren't convinced yet, then here's another picture:

I applied this on the said time. After 9 hours at the office, I ate dinner and haven't washed my face yet, here it is on:

*10:13 PM

Almost 14 hours had been passed and you can see that the eyeliner is still on my eyelid with just minimal fading. And yes, fyi I have oily face and eyelids. It looks like it will stay good even after 20 hours!

Recommendation:
Yes! I still recommend this product despite of it's availability. I know it will cost you $32 if you will buy this on Stila as set, but don't be sad because you can buy this at House of Flair in super affordable price and individually. And also, I really like the product not because it was given to me free, but the real thing is that it is one of the best eyeliner I ever had. I am really snob when it comes to expensive makeup but shelling out P400+ for this eyeliner is really worth it.

Do you want to try this eyeliner? Or would you like to order imported makeup or anything from the US but afraid of paying "High Shipping Fee's"? Oh, I felt the same way too, but fret not because House of Flair is to the rescue! (I sound corny, sorry!).

You can pre-order anything from the US (except for food and electronics) like imported cosmetics (UD,Stila,Nyx,MAC and everything else) books, magazines, collector's or limited items (i.e. Hello Kitty products), shoes, bags, clothes, home items (such as kitchen utensils & candles) children's toys etc.

As a matter of fact, House of Flair ships all orders for free nationwide at no minimum order amount. Actually, I already tried it to myself, you can read my experience on "My First US online shopping through House of Flair HERE. Believe me, House of Flair is a trusted online store, plus Ms.Suyen (the person behind HOF) is very approachable and kind. I already tested it since I am very "makulit" upon my first transaction with her, but she is very patient in answering all of my queries.

Review: Royal Effem Forever Stylo Eyeliner

Hi guys! I am just so happy kasi lately parang everyday ko nauupdate ang blog ko! Yesterday I created a review about the Colour Collection that I've got from Ms.Liz, (click here for the story). Here is another review from the stuff that I've got.

I was very happy when I opened the package and see that Ms.Liz included an eyeliner. I already emptied the liquid eyeliner that I usually use, but that one is a cheap and made from China. But it was actually good since it is water proof, and to tell you the truth it cost around 40 pesos. So I am very glad that I have a new eyeliner since eye lining is one of my most favorite thing to do. It really change the appearance of my chinky eyes, and it really awaken my look.

So here's the review about the Royal Effem  Forever Stylo Eyeliner.

Cost: FREE
(approximately P750.00)
Place Bought: FREE

I haven't tried any product from Royal Effem. FYI, Royal effem is an imported makeup brand. Here is some information about them.

"Royal Effem makeup and cosmetics means caring for the skin and having respect for nature whilst in pursuit of beauty. Harmonious make up colours and well balanced ingredients with only the most advanced technology bringing out every woman’s natural beauty.

Laboratori Royal, the creators of Royal Effem and Oe Organic Elements Skincare  was established over 50 years ago and is a manufacturer of luxurious, classical yet contemporary Italian makeup and skin care products that are distributed to over 30 countries worldwide and promoted through the most luxurious spa and perfumery channels."

Yes, Royal is a a little bit of expensive product but it comes from Italian makeup and skin care for over 50 years. It means that they have a good reputation.

I am very much curious about this product, I failed to win Ms.Martha's giveaway last May, she had lots of Royal Effem stuff there, but now I have one and thanks to Ms.Liz!
 This is in Stylo Eyeliner.
 Ang sosy, made in Italy!
Tuccini, Cuccini, Ciao! (haha nababaliw na naman ako)
 This is in eyeliner pen.
This is approimately 4-5 inches in height.
This is the description from the website:
  • Long-lasting, waterproof eyeliner pen, for a decisive, marked stroke.  Ophthalmologically tested.
  • Forever Stylo Eyeliner is a super long-wear, water proof, water-based liquid eyeliner ink.
  • Its improved soft tip provides a super-smooth, mistake-proof and precise lining, and a continuous and regular colour-pay-off is given due to the capillary system.
  • It has a very good coverage and the colour is deep black because it contains carbon black.
  • The forever Stylo Eyeliner dries quickly, it is no transfer and no fading. It is dermatologically and ophthalmologically tested.

This is in color BLACK.

Here is the swatch on my arm:
without flash
Without flash
You can make a very thin line, it depends on how you apply it, but you will achieve thinner lines if you will use the very tip of the pen.
With flash.

Closer look.

On me:
This is after 10 hours.

Hello oily fes!

The product test if it is waterproof:

When rubbed once. There is a slightly smudge.
 When rubbed twice.

When wet and rubbed. :( Oh no, with just one rubbed on the lines, the color fades. It isn't waterproof!

So let's proceed to the real thing if I like this product.
The following are based on my own and honest observation:

Good Points:

- Lightweight
- Pigmented
- Long lasting
- It has soft tip
- It dries quickly
- Easy to carry around
- Gives you a precise lining
- It stayed on my lids for 8-10 hours
- Eye cats and winged lines are now easier to achieve

Bad Points:

- It smudge
- Not Waterproof
- Availability

The Verdict:

It says on its description that it is waterproof, but it isn't. As you can see on the pictures, I put my arm in a running water and rubbed the lines and it smudge. But the good thing is, I have an extremely oily lids but  it does not give me racoon eyes naman. It is pretty good long lasting and it does not have weird or strong scent. Still, I love this product. It is matte and winged lines are easier to achieve with this Eyeliner. I think good primer will help the eyeliner not to smudge. And hey, this is very pigmented! Though the price is kinda stiff   am just fortunate to have this FREE. hehe

Well, by the way if you are curious about Royal Effem, they actually have amazing foundations! Ms.Martha of the beauty junkee really love their lipstick and concealer.

You can check their FB account HERE.
If im not mistaken they still have their 40% off on all R.E eyeshadows.

How bout' you guys, have you tried something from Royal effem?

Hope you like this post.
Thanks,
JENNY

Review - EB Evera Brown Eye Pencil

Dahil sinipag ako, okay gawa ulit ng post. So here's the short review about the Ever Bilena Brown Pencil that i bought in my Thrifty Cart Part 2. Pasok sa budget ito mga sis since P45.00 lang sya, I'm almost out of brown pencil na kasi and i heard a lot of good reviews about ever bilena pencils just like what Ms. Noe and Ms. Jes using (Thou gamit nila ang isa pang line ng EB pero if im not mistaken they both using the same pencil). I usually use this for filling my brows specially ngayong may poknat ang kilay ko (ano ba sa english ang poknat? hahaha). I opted brown instead of black since it gives me a more lighter look while the black can really make you look mataray. So here's the swatch.

So far okay naman sya :) good din gamitin for your waterline if you want the everyday look.
How bout you ladies? What do you use to groom and fill your brows?
