Shawill Color Cream Eyeshadow

Hoola! Just wanted to share with you a precious gem which is a super budget friendly eyeshadow from brand Shawill. I bought this last May, when I had a bridesmaid client. Since I am on a tight budget, I look for something affordable at Watson's near our place. And I found this.

I actually got this on sale that time, so instead of paying P128.00, I think I only paid P98.00 for this.

This eyeshadow has 6 creamy, not-so-shimmery eyeshadow.

Looking at the eyeshadow, they don't actually look like creams. But it is actually eyeshadow creams which stays better than normal eyeshadow.

This is how it looks like with flash.

The color selection is great specially if you are sporting colorful makeup :)

The swatch:
without flash
The eyeshadow has shimmers on it.

I did not apply eyeshadow primer underneath. It has good color payoff and pigmented.

The eyeshadow are very easy to blend.

It doesn't have any weird scent.

So if you are looking for affordable eyeshadow, you can try this one :)

Almay One Coat Triple Effect Mascara

Hala! I don't recall ever posting any reviews about mascara! Anyare?! Haha, anyway since I have tried few mascaras lately, let me share with you the mascara that I am currently using.

I have chinky eyes, so no need to explain and describe how thin and sparse my eyelashes are. In short, I hate that I don't have those long eyelashes like my brothers have (hahaha). So mascara is a must have for me! It really brightens up my eyes and drastically change my look (naks!).

I am currently using this Almay One Coat Triple Effect Mascara. I included before and after pictures so you could tell if the mascara is great or not.

Brand : Almay
Price : P350.00
(get a chance to have this 40% off of it's price, visit Pretty Thrifty Shop)
This is my first time to try a product from Almay Cosmetics. You can check it out HERE for more info about Almay.
As of the packaging, I really love its color. It's super clean and made up of thick plastic. I also love the silver line on the cap of the mascara. It looks expensive.
I chose the blackest black. It also comes with shade black and black brown.
What it promise is that it will make your eyelashes
fuller, longer, curvier lashes in one coat for 100% pure impact. The patented triple action gel formula instantly builds, extends and sculpts your lashes. Triple Impact Brush wraps mascara evenly around every lash in one smooth application. Gently formulated with aloe and vitamin B5 to help keep lashes conditioned. Extra gentle, non irritating formula.

Here's how the wand looks like:

Unlike other mascara, this one has this kind of wand. A flat on the other side, and a little bit longer on the other side.
Some said that the shorter side is for volumizing, while the longer side is for lengthening.

Pictures below will show how the mascara works.
I did not curl my eyelashes.
Please excuse the pictures, they look super texturized
(I really don't know why, it seems like the blogger roughen my pictures after I uploaded it here )

My left eye has hooded eyelids. But you can see that the mascara does a wonder job in curling my eyelashes.

(Ang pangit talaga ng picture, para akong nagiging zombie hahaha!)

Anyway, what I love about the mascara is that:
- It lengthens my lashes
- It curls my lashes
- It isn't hard to remove
- It adds volume to my lashes
- Doesn't irritate my sensitive eyes
- Good for contact lenses wearer
- It doesn't smudge that much (given that I have oily lids and teary eyes)

Downside is:
- It's not waterproof
- It clumps
- It has wet formula
(you have to wait for few seconds until it dries up)
- It doesn't separate lashes that much
- Raccoon eyes is very minimal

Nonetheless, I still love the mascara because it doesn't irritate my eyes. I also love the fact that it actually lengthens and volumize my lashes even without curling my eyelashes. My dad saw me wearing the mascara and he asked me if I was wearing falsies. My friend also bought one, and she really love it. Here's our picture wearing the mascara:
This is my friend wearing the mascara.

Here is me wearing it too:

What can you say about the mascara?
Or have you ever tried something from Almay?

Let me hear your thoughts through your comments.

Thanks for reading.

Review : Stila Waterproof Eyeliner in Stargazer

First of all, I would to sincerely apologize to Ms. Suyen for not posting this review as soon as I received this. But of course, I wanted to thank her for being so kind and understanding. And to all of you guys, I told ya last 2 weeks that I'll be posting this review just after I finished the lipstick reviews, but it took me so long to post this because I am not able to buy new camera. Thankfully, last night, my "kakarag-karag" camera works again and I grab the opportunity to take picture of this product so I can finally state my thought and write my review about it.

Anyway, you all know that I am a thrifty person, so I don't usually buy eyeliner which will cost me more than 100 pesos. But I still have the curiosity and "lust" on expensive brands like Urban Decay, Stila, MAC and etc. Fortunately, I had the chance to try one of the amazing product from STILA.

As I mentioned on this post, I was chosen as the "Guest Blogger" of House of Flair for the month of November. So, HOF immediately sent this product to me the day after it announced the blogger of the month:

If there is one thing that I cannot forget in my daily routine, that is "Eyeliner". Why? Because I don't have the tantalizing eyes. I have chinky and boring eyes, so eyeliner is,well my Hero. It brightens up my eyes and needless to say, it truly change my look. I feel confident and pretty "wink*wink*" with eyeliner and bold lipstick! But upon using cheap eyeliners in the market, honestly, I haven't met the perfect one. Does Stila eyeliner  will win my heart despite of being an imported product? Keep on reading below and see what's special about this eyeliner.

Here is Stila Smudge Proof Waterproof Eyeliner. This is actually comes in a set called "Seeing Stars Smudge Stick Set" for $32 but you can buy it individually at House of Flair. It comes with 5 different colors:
  • stargazer (black with gold and silver pearl)
  • angelfish (metallic pewter)
  • tetra (deep shimmery purple)
  • moray (golden olive shimmer)
  • oscar fish (warm brown with gold pearl)

It is said to be "perfect for any day or evening holiday look, waterproof and long-wearing shade in a propel pencil won’t smudge, budge or fade through holiday cheer or seasonal weather."

Hmm, sounds promising right? Let's see later on my swatch test if it really is smudge and water proof.

The product information was labeled on the eyeliner.

Ingredients: Isododecane, Cyclopentasiloxane, PEG/PPG-19/19 Dimethicone, Synthetic Wax, Hydrogenated Polydicyclopentadiene, Nylon-12, C20-40 Alcohols, Perfluorononyl Dimethicone, Silica, Calcium Aluminum Borosilicate, Calcium Sodium Borosilicate, Polyglyceryl-4 Diisostearate/Polyhydroxystearate/Sebacate, Polyethylene, Pentaerythrityl Tetra-Di-T-Butyl Hydroxyhydrocinnamate, Tocopherol, Tin Oxide, May Contain (+/-) Mica, Titanium Dioxide (CI 77891), Iron Oxides (CI 77491, CI 77492, CI 77499), Bronze Powder (CI 77400), Ferric Ferrocyanide (CI 77510), Chromium Oxide Greens (CI 77288), Aluminum Powder (CI 77000), Ultramarines (CI 77007), Carmine (CI 75470).

I really love the pencil packaging, it also has glitters on which is also of the same glitters on the actual product. The pencil itself looks sosy. hehe
It is a retractable pencil so it's easier for me to control the product.

So here's the swatches on my skin:

I just lightly swatch the liner on my skin, so you can see how pigmented the liner is.

On macro shot, you can see the gold and silver shimmers. But if you don't like shimmers, fret not because it doesn't actually shows when applied on eyelids.

The moment of truth, here is the water test:

Take note that I hardly rubbed the eyeliner to see how smudge proof it is. See the pictures below and let it do the talking:

As you can see, my skin turns red, it only shows that I truly rubbed my skin hard! Lol! :D

And again, I put my arm under running water and rubbed it until 20 rubbed.

Tortured arm? lol. Grabe, it is really hard to remove. So, are you convince that this is really waterproof and smudge proof? If you aren't convinced yet, then here's another picture:

I applied this on the said time. After 9 hours at the office, I ate dinner and haven't washed my face yet, here it is on:

*10:13 PM

Almost 14 hours had been passed and you can see that the eyeliner is still on my eyelid with just minimal fading. And yes, fyi I have oily face and eyelids. It looks like it will stay good even after 20 hours!

Recommendation:
Yes! I still recommend this product despite of it's availability. I know it will cost you $32 if you will buy this on Stila as set, but don't be sad because you can buy this at House of Flair in super affordable price and individually. And also, I really like the product not because it was given to me free, but the real thing is that it is one of the best eyeliner I ever had. I am really snob when it comes to expensive makeup but shelling out P400+ for this eyeliner is really worth it.

Do you want to try this eyeliner? Or would you like to order imported makeup or anything from the US but afraid of paying "High Shipping Fee's"? Oh, I felt the same way too, but fret not because House of Flair is to the rescue! (I sound corny, sorry!).

You can pre-order anything from the US (except for food and electronics) like imported cosmetics (UD,Stila,Nyx,MAC and everything else) books, magazines, collector's or limited items (i.e. Hello Kitty products), shoes, bags, clothes, home items (such as kitchen utensils & candles) children's toys etc.

As a matter of fact, House of Flair ships all orders for free nationwide at no minimum order amount. Actually, I already tried it to myself, you can read my experience on "My First US online shopping through House of Flair HERE. Believe me, House of Flair is a trusted online store, plus Ms.Suyen (the person behind HOF) is very approachable and kind. I already tested it since I am very "makulit" upon my first transaction with her, but she is very patient in answering all of my queries.

Eyeshadow : Nyx Sexy Blue Eyes

I admit it, I am not a big fan of eyeshadows. I feel like, when I applied it on my eyelids, it will only exaggerate my look. But, upon discovering the blogging world, it changes everything. I learned to love colorful eyeshadows and started to wear it nowadays.

But since I am a snob when it comes to expensive makeup, last June, Makeup Suite had a blog sale, and I am very glad to find affordable pre-loved makeup. And it's my first time to have an eyeshadow palette from Nyx. And today I am going to show to you the NYX SEXY BLUE EYES EYESHADOW PALETTE.

COST : P200.00
WHERE : MAKEUP SUITE
CONDITION : PRE-LOVED

It came up with a sturdy black palette with approximately 5 inches long.

On the back part of the palette, you can see the information, ingredients and manufacturing details of the product.

It is distributed by NYX Los Angeles California U.S.A

HOW IT LOOKS LIKE INSIDE:
navy blue, jeans blue, deep blue, light blue, silver-beige, orange, copper red, taupe, dark gold.
This photo was taken under natural lighting without flash.

This photo was taken with flash.

As you can see, it still contains a lot of product. When I bought this from Makeup Suite last June, parang 3% of the product has been used palang.

And after 3 months, I still have 70-80 % of the product left. It goes to show, that a little goes a long way with this eyeshadows.

It contains 10 shimmery (not glittery) eyeshadows.

SWATCH:
I took different pictures in different lighting for you to see it well.
WITH LOW FLASH.

WITHOUR FLASH, TEXTURIZED VERSION.
On this shot, the eyeshadows may look too shimmery, but it isn't actually. It's not too shimmery not matte. Just in between.

WITHOUT FLASH, NATURAL LIGHTING

WITHOUT FLASH, DIM LIGHTING

WITH FLASH.
  CLOSER VIEW:

The number 9 e/s is a great dupe for Urban Decay's SMOG.

 Pretty Things:
Cheap
(got this as pre-loved)

No weird scent
Easy to blend
A little goes a long way
 Contains a lot of product
The palette has a wide mirror
May last 1-2 years (depends on usage)
The colors are very versatile you can come up with different color combination unlike the other palette from For your eyes only collection

Ugly Truth:
It has fallout
The applicator is useless
E/s number 7 and 9 almost looks like the same
The palette is prone to scratches and finger prints

But all in all, I really love this eyeshadow. I can use this during special occasions.  It has a lot of colors and I can come up with different look. It's easy to blend even with fingers. I do recommend this to everyone!

These are some of the pictures wering Nyx Sexy Blue eyes e/s:
Using e/s no. 6 and 7

Combination of e/s 1,2 and 6

Combination of e/s 7,8,9

That's it! I am a bit in a hurry now.

Thanks for visiting my blog!

Love,
JENNY
