Makeover: Hair Rebond at Salon De Poseur

Hello there!
Here's my experience on Salon De Poseur last Saturday when I had my hair rebonded.

Cost: P1,500 + 500 for hair color
Where: Taytay, Rizal
Satisfactory: B
Salon De poseur is located at National Road Taytay Rizal beside Puregold and at Lifehomes Pasig City.

Just a short recap, It's my third time to have my hair rebonded. The first time that I've tried it was way back 2009 when I was graduating college, and the second was year 2011 month of February and the 3rd was this month, last Saturday. I really have curly hair, a frizzy one, dry and having lots of volume.

Here's the picture way back 2009:
This was the so called Milk-Rebonding,with free cellophane, I got this from 8 Salon at Taytay Rizal for 1,300.00. See it still has lots of volume no?Super thick kasi ng hair ko.

2011:
And this one was done at Bago Salon at Angono, Rizal for p1,600.00 without cellophane, I just colored my hair after 2 weeks, hehe pasaway ako e, I find it boring kasi kapag black yung hair ko so yeah, the right bottom picture was after I colored my hair.

I am really tired of styling it everyday, I can't even loose it because it will surely rumbled and super buhaghag talaga. As in!

I am planning to have my hair straightened at Japanese Straight, but a friend of mine told me that Salon De Poseur is having a promo which you can avail hair rebond + hair color for only P1500, but when we (mom) visited the salon, the receptionist told me that I need to add 500 pesos for the hair color since they're going to use Loreal. Hmmm, so it will cost me 2k to have my hair rebonded and as well as coloring. Naconvinced naman ako ng receptionist, so ayon, tinamad na kong magtransfer sa Japanese Straight tho it will cost me the same (last month kasi they told me that I can avail the Japanese straight for only 1500 with free hair color, but when I asked them last week they told me that they are no longer having their promo) so ayun dahil lang sa katamaran tho I really want my hair to be done at Japanese Straight I opted for Salon de Poseur.

I forgot to take photos of my hair before the session so just to give you an idea how my hair looks like here it is:
Sorry, I made a mistake with the caption.
See I have curly hair. Blame it to dad! haha ang daming mamanahin yung hair pa.

When my stylist loose my hair, and comb it and separated my hair at center, my gosh! Para syang yung aswang.. haha nakapony kasi hair ko so nagcurve sya lalo then parang tineased sya. Anyway here are some of the pictures I took inside the salon.
Its moi! With the Clutch that I've got from TBJ.
The first process was, they shampooed my hair.
Next is, they applied the 1st solution which is a relaxant or softeners.
(this process that I really really hate, because the chemical smells like pee. As in mapanghe!)
He also applied hotoil at my hair ends since it has color.
After 1 or 1 1/2 hours they washed my hair again. Blow dry it and partition my hair in shafts and he ironed it. He used 3 kinds of hair irons, but at the middle of the process, the other stylist borrowed one of the iron so 2 nalang sya.

I noticed that he was not actually ironing my roots, so ayun, kulot pa ngayon yung mga baby bangs ko. Sabi nga ni mama mas okay daw talaga pag becky ang nagrerebond sayo kasi masinsin.
Then afterwards, they applied neutralizer on my hair. Waited for 1 to 1 1 1/2 hours again then washed it again.
After that, he blowed dry my hair while combing it with plastic brush. I can see that the ends of my hair are horrible, it was frizzy and dry, but I fret not, because I usually experienced it before since may color nga yung hair ko, he will trim my hair naman after the rebonding process.

The lady there was having her hair colored.

By the way, Beebop Smith, son of Pepe Smith also went to this Salon to had his haircut. Well, I thought kamukha lang nya, muka kasing ordinaryong nilalalang lang e. hehe Pero sya pala yon. Ang payat payat! ahaha
So after he blow dry it, we proceed with hair coloring. I chose the Golden Blonde but we opted for lower Hydrogen peroxide (solution) kasi sabi nya di na daw pwedeng irebond yung hair ko next time pag masyadong light yung color. So para matapos na sabi ko sige okay na yung 9.0.
Then he applied it twice, and after almost 2 hours, they washed my hair na and blow dry it again for the last time.
After 7 hours Voila! Here's my hair!
Tah dah! I thought wala na syang pag-asa. haha meron parin pala kahit konti.

I am afraid kasi I know for sure, when I washed my hair, it will look differ, so I lower my expectation, so I will not be disappointed. Parang nirelax lang no? And take a look at the ends, mejo nagfrizz sila at nagfafly away. But it's okay, sanay na ako, from my previous rebonding sessions, ganito lagi ang output ng hair ko.

My thoughts about the Salon:

This is my honest opinion, the salon looks nice naman, but I think they lack on complimenting their clients, tho they did not say anything bad about my hair, except for saying that it was really thick. What I mean is, they should have known how to make chit-chat with you while doing a certain, they should know how to make "bola" with the customers or the right way to say is to, make a conversation with your customers wherein you can build a good terms or commitment with them, like "Ma'am if you are about to go for hair treatment on future, I would love to do it for you and I will give you discount", marketing strategy ba.

And another thing that I notice is, the other staff there were not friendly, I can still remember this staff who was shampooing my hair, she wasn't even talking to me or give me a smile. Heck was that. And the chairs are freaking painful, I mean they aren't comfortable, I have back pain and knee pain afterwards. And normally, salons should have plenty of fashion magazine or any magazines so that the customers can read it while waiting the services to finish, and guess what, I even asked for a magazine cause I am getting bored, well they gave me something naman, an Allure magazine dated 2009! I was like? Guys, are you okay??????? O_o. I stayed there for 7 hours, and still, they are giving the same magazine to new customers. Ate, iisa lang talaga ang magazine ninyo?? Lukot na, outdated pa!

They don't have the so called waiver or terms and conditions before doing the rebonding treatment, unlike the previous salon I had last year I have this waiver / terms and conditions that I signed on in, so whether you are not satisfied with the service you can go back to the salon and complaint about it.

They don't allow the customers to see the real products that they used. Every time they get something they go to a room, and when they go out, nasa lalagyan na yung product na nakalagay sa cup na black. So I am not sure if what brand they used on my hair. Even the hair color, I'm not sure if it is really Loreal. :(

They don't even have free water or coffee or candy or anything.

Good points:

Hindi naman puro negative lang yung napansin ko sa kanila, meron din namang good points, like this:
Giving me discount on hair color, instead of P700.00, they give it to me for only P500.00
My stylist didn't bombard me annoying comments about how ugly my hair is.
Hmm ano pa ba? oh yeah, I did not experience any hair burning or hair fall, kaya lang yung roots ng hair ko hindi masyadong naironed.
The hair color is nice, it did not stained my pillow sheet or t-shirt or my towel.
At least they have a nice c.r.

Advices from My stylist:

* Don't wash hair within 3 days
* Do not highlights my  hair
*I can go with any treatment specially the hair strengthening.
(Dahil jan my P50.00 kang tip)haha ang kuripot ko no?

Final Thoughts:

Lower your expectation - Yeah, thou my hair is not really straight, it looks like ni-relax lang sya, I am still happy with it. I already told myself na di ko icocompare yung hair ko sa other kasi I really have curly and frizzy hair so of course results may vary depending on your hair condition. So no reason to blame the salon, kasi I found out that it was my hair, logically, this is my third time, and still it resulted the same from my previous rebonding sessions, so I think it depends on your hair talaga.

Learn to accept what you have - In short be contented. If you have curly or wavy hair but you can style it and    somehow it is not frizzy as how frizzy my hair is, don't go for rebonding or any straightening treatment. Instead learn how to make your hair more healthy but if you really wanted to try it then go for it. Just be ready for extra maintenance than the usual thing you do to your hair when it is not yet treated.

So that's the long story of my Rebonding process.
How bout you guys, have you tried rebonding too?
Share your thoughts or if you have advices there you can put it on comments!

Thank you!
Have a happy weekend!
JENNY
